Monopoly – The Musical

We have run through all the great movies of the 80’s, minus Labyrinth. All major rock icons now have their own show. Warren Buffet got one for Jimmy, too. Just kidding. Seriously, though – Disney kinda chilled out after Frozen. Now, Hamilton is doing great on TV, five shows a day!

Boardgames. That is where we are headed next. Monopoly. Life. Chutes and Ladders. Candyland is Julie Taymors next dream child. What’s missing? Great books. Classic family games set The what and where. Who, why and how ? Some brilliant mind is going to have to tackle that one, although I’m guessing with Monopoly, Mr.Monopoly himself is going to be the leading man and the storyline might have something to do with getting out of jail.

Great librettos have been missing for a while now, or have they just been hiding. Waiting in the dark of some genius’ moleskin for the right ideas to join up with, or are we really just a lot less discerning in what we accept as true Musical Theater? Unfortunately I do not have these answers. One might find them in the ROI of Hamilton or Waitress or Disney’s willingness to take Broadway to stream service. I’ve always been much better singing than with numbers, though, so, I’ll let you do the math.

Oh, and if Monopoly makes it to Broadway, please send my share in real cash. Thanks for playing!

Arrivederci Roma. Muah.

With havin so much content do you ever run into any
issues of plagorism or copyright violation? My site has a lot
of unique content I’ve either written myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my agreement.
Do you know any techniques to help prevent content from being ripped off?
    I’d truly appreciate it.

Interesting comment. I do, actually, but it is not something I recommend or morally approve of, and I would not do it myself unless it were particularly egregious. I know that sometimes I inadvertently infringe on copyright, and I also know that I have not, knowingly, made any money yet as a multi-modal artist. If and when I did, if I did not give credit or offer to collaborate, I would totally understand an artist coming forward, seeking reparations. If I were able to pay, then certainly I would. Seeing as at this moment in time, I am bankrupt, if you sue me, I have nothing to give. You have got to start somewhere. – so do what you know, until you know better, and then when you know, do better. Great question and great comment. One of my favorite topics.

Have you ever thought about adding a little bit more than just your articles?
I mean, what you say is fundamental and everything. Nevertheless
imagine if you added some great graphics or video clips to give your posts more, “pop”!
Your content is excellent but with images and clips, this blog could definitely be one of the greatest in its field.
    Wonderful blog!

Well, I believe that the paper format of the newspaper is important to keep around, because there is a specialness to holding a piece of paper in your hand while you are reading it, you connect with it in a different way. I will always advocate for written newspapers. Blogs are wonderful, in addition to true journalism, written by true journalists, which I am not. I am an artist, writing about art.

First of all I would like to say great blog!
I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you do not mind.

I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind prior to writing.
I’ve had difficulty clearing my mind in getting my ideas out there.
I truly do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints?

    Thank you!

    1. cristina says:

How do I center myself – Well, writing comes at the end of the day for me. Writing comes after everything else gets out, after all of the other ideas are birthed, and i give them their chance. Then, after I relax, and either meditate or cook – then I am able to write. If I sit down and force myself to write, it does not happen. Only after I let all of the other ideas that want to come out, the playful content, the music, the dancing – then the writing comes out. It saves itself till the end. Like it’s own filter.

You are very very kind to say that. This blog is a dream of mine, yet, a thorn in my side, because my strong points do not lie in web design. I pray daily that a person will show up in my life who will just make this site beautiful, and then all I have to do, is find my happy place and write.

Hi there! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems with hackers?

My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing many months of hard
work due to no back up. Do you have any solutions to protect against hackers?

    1. cristina says:

No, you probably have a good point there. I checked out your site and noticed that it is in Polish, is that the language ? Or is that Russian ? I have a good friend who is Polish.
